About the Raphoe Heritage Project


Welcome to the Raphoe Heritage Website


The Raphoe Heritage Project aims to promote the cultural heritage of Raphoe and the surrounding hinterlands in order to encourage tourism and preserve the rich heritage of the area. Through local community participation, the project aims to provide education and resources towards visitors to the town and surrounding area. Some of the actions the project will be promoting during the coming year include the following:


  • A community photographic exhibition detailing the cultural heritage and history of Raphoe
  • A public art project led by local craftspeople with participation from the local community
  • A detailed website with photographs, oral history and tourist information regarding local heritage
  • Educational classes in heritage crafts and research for the local community
